I am a great deal less moralistic about accrued wealth than a lot of people ostensibly MUCH further right than me*, but the one really convincing argument against oligarch wealth I’ve encountered is that their presence warps the polity. They fuck up politics for the rest of us by being so wealthy.
People always point out that taxing the super-wealthy wouldn't actually raise all that much revenue, but it's becoming clearer that the primary benefit is just taking away their money.
