Oof, that's a tough choice. Dyatlov Pass is too well known and has lost hipster cred at this point. Yuba County 5 is too sad to really be *into*. And I've always found planes NOT crashing to be more mysterious.

Love the "someone else recommended [person]" defense Trump trots out whenever an appointee doesn't obey him. A masterful combination of "I didn't know any better," "I just do what other people tell me to do," and "the buck stops somewhere else." Just what you expect in a leader.

Kilmeade: Dems are accusing you of wanting to eat live babies b/c you posted an AI video of you eating live babies. But of course you wouldn't eat live babies, right?
Trump: Well if you look at the Constitution and the Article 2, the words are very powerful, it says I can almost do whatever I want.

I don't think there's any metaphysical meat to suffering and pleasure; I think they are entirely constructs of our own psychology (which doesn't make them not "real," just not essential).

Personally object to this idea, mostly because it sounds like Plato's "noble lie" but also because screw evolution for designing creatures that need to struggle to be happy. We should be able to clear that right up with some genetic engineering. ;)

For routine observations, astronomers just talk amongst themselves (e.g. The Astronomer's Telegram, basically just a listserv). Peer-reviewed papers get a writeup by the PO of a scientist's institution, which might get picked up by other media. Avi bypasses all that using prestige and a blog.
