I had 2 classmates who clerked at scotus. One was FedSoc, and clerked for Scalia. The other was not FedSoc, and clerked for Kennedy.

One of those justices retired, and the other one died in office while my classmate was clerking for him. Correlation or causation?

Shiv, I know this is mostly a shitpost, but have you read John Scalzi's "When the Moon Hits Your Eye"? I just finished it, and it has some unexpectedly deep exploration into this specific concept. I recommend it.

I don't claim to be a talmudic scholar, but this puts me in mind of Yom Kippur rules when you're caring for another. If the 2 options are a similar exertion & horf is used to the escort, stick with the one he knows & is comfortable with.

Also, it sounds like goat warding would be a lot of work!

Kid would become the first MLB player in history whose mom insisted on going to work with him every day to "truck watch."

"Don't we get to be happy, Cathy? At some point down the line, don't we get to relax without some new tsuris to push me yet further from you?"

Feels relevant.

Have fun!

I'm confused, John. I've been reading your work for a long time, so I know that while she's grown up a bit, Athena can't be more than like 12 years old. How can you allow your young child to move out?
