Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (N64) (1996)

The Battle of Hoth, a defensive mission to stall the Imperial assault until all the rebel forces leave Echo Base. We see our hero flying a snowspeeder dangerously close to the kinda camel shaped AT-AT metal monsters while rogue leader is constantly yelling in his ear to fire the damn tow cable, which he did and he's wrapping it around the AT-AT's legs and he's doing great so shut it rogue leader. Wow the Empire really did hire the worst techbros to design their machines, they all have glaring flaws and weak spots. I just wanna mention this is one of my favorite games ever (I played the PC version back in the day), it's janky and often unfairly difficult but it's got a bit of somethin' somethin' there. The dashing Dash Rendar, rendered in ultra detailed low-poly, faithfully showing his rugged looks, sleek mullet and puffy brown life jacket. He's standing in front of a frosty barren wall of Echo Base, visually distinctive by its vast, endless halls with stretched textures and repeating patterns, giving the surroundings a very lonely, liminal space feel. Dash's ship, the Outrider flying through an asteroid field and getting very close to an Imperial Star Destroyer. The Outrider kinda looks like a baby version of the Millennium Falcon with a similar saucer and asymmetrical design philosophy, but with a neat trick of being able to rotate the central part and its extended left arm, or was that just the toys I can't remember. A closeup of an IG-88 assassin droid, a very lanky, robot with a penis-shaped head wielding some kinda laser rifle, being very determined to fry Mr. Rendar's ass.

I'm working on a video collaboration project and it's prompting me to explore my PC gaming origins. This has me flipping through the oldest Halo Maps uploads and remember all of the hours I spent in canyons alone just enjoying the vibes.

Modders also make the best map names.

today was a draw-your-ocs-as-neopets kind of day
Korinn is a grey, peach, and red dragon with various stripes and spots on her body. She has sets of four spikes under each eye, running up each shoulder blade, and lining the lower part of her back/base of her tail. The two segmented horns on her head curve like a Bongo antelope's horns. She has long ears, two large wings, and a fluffy grey mane running from her poll to the base of her neck. Her body is covered in short fur, which lengthens to a large fluff at the end of her tail. Korinn is an Earth dragon affiliated with the Soil aspect. Her magical abilities allow her to unearth ancient treasures packed deep in dirt, mud, and rock. She is autistic, with her special interest being archaeology. On Neopets she is represented as a Tyrannian Draik named Koravinn! Miasma is stout, greenish-grey dragon. She has a large, heavy crocodile-like tail tipped with thick scales that she uses to propel herself in the water. She has webbed feet but does not possess any gills. Instead of wings, she has a series of webbed spines along her back and forearms. Miasma can move these spines up and down - they normally lay flat and hidden against her skin unless she is threatened or hunting. These spines are barbed and can inject a powerful venom that paralyzes enemies or prey. She has a thick, dark blue mane that extends from her poll to the base of her tail. Bright cyan markings line her horns and spines, in addition to rings cascading down the sides of her body. She has two barb-less spines extending where her ears would be. Her body is covered in smooth, fish-like scales. Miasma is a Water dragon affiliated with the Poison aspect. In addition to her barbed spines, she also has venomous saliva. She is immune to her own venom, and her magic provides her protection from the venom and toxins produced by other creatures. On Neopets she is represented as a Maraquan Krawk named Miasmax! (which is apparently the French name for the Pokemon Garbador)
