I post facts about environmental laws, regulations, and policies that protect our public lands. This is my fight; my small part of the resistance against Facists and Oligarchs.

“The purpose of this exercise of free speech is to disrupt without violence and draw attention to the fact that public lands in the United States are under attack,” it reads.

DOGE isn’t gone.
Ask any Fed who had a position affected by them.

They’re embedded, in positions where they cannot be fired.

This is another connection to the bad things happening to #PublicLands. Ecosystems are connected, so what happens on Public Lands will impact all of us.

So many people have been fighting so hard. Canvassing, protesting, calling, writing. So many Federal employees have sacrificed in hopes that you were finally going to stand up for every day Americans and push back on Trump.

8 Senators threw away everything. You couldn't stop them?

Before us are illegal and unnecessary Republican mass firings, which they will own; behind us, millions of Americans whose health care Republicans attack, and will own.

We stand our ground.

Federal employees across the government are now receiving layoff notices, a devastating outcome of Trump’s political games. It’s outrageous that he would use people’s livelihoods as pawns to “score political points”.

Do you like national parks? Making sure America’s food is safe? Having security at airports? The Trump government shutdown is decimating all those essential services and more.

Fund the government.
Fix the health care crisis.
Put working people first.

Let's remember that political appointees are not the same as career civil service. Listen to the scientists...you know, the one's who are not beholden to an orange tyrant.
Wow. Let’s not blow past this. The administrator of the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY says that climate change is a hoax/con job.
KILMEADE: The president says climate change is a hoax, it's a con job. Where do you fall on this?

Thread worth letting sink in: 🫤
"If they shutdown, then the question will be whether the parks are left open, without services. If they are and the furloughed employees are then fired under a RIF, the NPS will have lost its core workforce, families will bear the loss of jobs, and the future of the parks is rather grim.”
🤬🤬🤬
"For the NPS, that means pretty much all employees," explains former NPS Director

Your #PublicLands being burned, and the federal employees who would typically be fighting this fire are fewer. Thank goodness CA state resources are coming to help.
The Trump Administration is once again failing to do its job — and California is cleaning up their mess.

We're deploying state resources to protect the 2,000-year old sequoias on FEDERAL LANDS from the wildfires the federal administration are supposed to handle.

Yep.
Paid till the end of the fiscal year, which starts October 1. So yes, the government is paying them full salary to not work while we, the remaining employees, are drowning under the increased workloads. So there was no expectation that they would continue to work.

Exactly 💯
July 31, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Tis true. Meanwhile, the employees "left behind" are doing more with less, little to know support, no travel, no training...just do the job. That is also not efficient. It's bad, real bad right now in government offices across the country.

From a legal perspective (meaning cut to just the facts), this video highlights the state of several #Federal agencies, and how actions taken have affected the civil service. If you wonder why Federal employees morale is at a very low point...look no further...

I guess MAGA doesn't want Americans to have clean air or water. EPA does so much more than that, too. The scientists and work done at the EPA helps inform the science used across lots of #PublicLands to preserve and protect our sacred American places we love to visit. #sad
Sad, but an utter rejection of science and with it, any desire to limit the damage that the burning of fossil fuels causes is where Republicanism has gone.

This entire thread deserves a look, so click on this and study the other posts from @donmoyn.bsky.social. I am reposting this one because even though #PublicLand sales were removed from the Big Ugly Bill, your #NPS site and other sites are at risk from #RIFs
One basic question is whether words or legal terms hold any meaning. For example, Presidents are allowed to do limited and narrow reductions in force (RIFs). They are not allowed to do large-scale reorganizations without Congress. But Trump is just calling his massive reorganization a RIF.

Exactly. We are already seeing that play out because so many took the Buyout and Early Retirement options. ...hence the devastation in TX.
A friend of my compared gutting of federal agencies to a wrecking a car: if you remove 30% of the parts of the car, it does not go 30% slower. It stops working.
July 8, 2025 at 10:28 PM
Well, well, well...how do we move on after this? All of your government agencies will cease to function as they are intended.
The Supreme Court cleared the way for Trump to move forward with mass layoffs and reorganizations across 19 federal agencies and departments, even as legal challenges continue.
