Neither in my wildest dreams nor worst nightmares, would I have thought that one could purchase control over the States for $290M (give or take). I'm not even factoring in how EM profits from this...I'm just gobsmacked it went for so little.

If resistance is truly futile, why did the Borg care? If they didn't consider resistance threat then wouldn't they just ignore the resisters and go about the business of assimilation. If I've learned anything from Gene Roddenberry it's that in the face of tyranny resistance is the answer.
