when they get so big that they don’t actually need to worry about consumers, they can effectively function like kings. totally indifferent to our anger because our individual dollars don’t add up to enough to care

There’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people to build on the rubble of what’s being destroyed before our eyes. Private corporations bending over to forcefeed everyone government-approved speech is evil and amoral, but more than anything this creates boring, inauthentic, unwatchable shit.

I like @miss604.com ‘s idea of donating to orgs like Qmunity, Out in Schools, Rainbow Refugees and others that make life better for all. Donate also to those orgs that are being affected by this decision to replace Bright Nights.

It's super cool how Vancouver Parks Board held an in camera meeting earlier this year to unanimously approve a Harry Potter "experience" in Stanley Park for the fall and winter.

$84 tickets for 60 minutes.

It replaced a charity fundraiser for firefighters and burn victims.
