i think my main issue with a lot of romance books is that the fem main character always compares herself to other women either positively or negatively. she’s either not pretty enough, smarter than her contemporaries, or most commonly, both

Having good opportunities in life is privilege yes, but just because you don’t have the same opportunities as someone else doesn’t mean they’re not allowed to share their experiences.
