Having covid in 2025 is deeply unchic. Do not recommend.

Patricia Routledge has died, aged 96. Let’s be clear about this: her spectacular performance of Noël Coward’s “I Went To A Marvellous Party” is an utterly delicious masterpiece of comic timing and vivid dramatic intent that will never be bettered. youtu.be/M5xc7HlkjVI

Zack Polanski saying what every politician should be saying,

"It's problematic to weaponise the synagogue attack to silence protest in this country against the genocide in Gaza"

"These are separate things and we should condemn them both"

You don’t actually have to both sides this. The Jewish community in the UK is not the Israeli government. You can just condemn the murder of two British Jews killed in their place of worship and you don’t have to say a single other thing.

Horrendous news and on Yom Kippur too. Love and solidarity with the Jewish community

Finally, a party leader actually saying this
"We absolutely need to stop the boats,” Polanski said, “but let’s stop the boats by offering safe and legal routes to asylum and not having people clinging on to dinghies for dear life.*

State commits genocide, and the plan to end it includes demilitarisation, but of the victims! The perpetrators face no accountability, pay no reparations and can keep their occupation intact, while the victims are made to live under foreign domination, seemingly in perpetuity. That is dystopian

There would be excellent undergraduate essay question in five years time on whether Starmer was being politically expedient in his leadership campaign or if he just sold out his true principles while in office
Keir Starmer says he's known for 10 years that the left has got it wrong on immigration & wasn't listening to peoples concerns

Really? Because 5 years ago he said the left wasn't bold enough in talking up the benefits of migration.

He really is the most duplicitous politician in my lifetime
