The #ElizabethLine is definitely a success. #Hanwell is absolutely packed at rush hour but busy outside of that and at weekends. It’s about time for #TFL to stop terminating so many westbound trains at Paddington and give us (and Acton Main Line) a more frequent service.

The most dangerous transport gap in Ealing is the gap between the council's rhetoric and action in support of active travel.

[Then] No to LTNs. Let's have school streets instead.

[Now] No no no. Not *that* school street.

Brent Meadow to Top Locks has been voted Ealing’s favourite walk. With our 50th Anniversary coming up on 29th June, it's great to know how Luke FitzHerbert's vision in fighting to found this 7km green chain of parks is still appreciated. FitzHerbert Walk, part of this walk, is named for him.

It’s the 50th anniversary of the Brent River Park.
It was the brainchild of Luke FitzHerbert, who was one of those larger-than-life characters with bags of energy. A left-wing member of the Bullingdon Club (no, really) and former Irish Guardsman.
Come celebrate our #BrentRiverPark 50th
Anniversary!🌿🥳🎂Sunday 29th June join us as we unveil new history signs to mark the astonishing vision of Luke FitzHerbert who brought our 7km park to life! Wildlife walks/talks, food, history, arts, writing, fun run, maypole, fundraiser launch and more!💚

"There's no better investment which a public body can make than the securing of open space - a boon for the present and an inheritance for generations yet born" Charles Jones, Ealing's first Borough Engineer writing, in 1901, about acquiring Ealing's open spaces. We agree!

This is stomach churning, but essential reading for all Brentsiders.
Great investigation by @jim.londoncentric.media into the shocking and ongoing pollution of our urban and suburban rivers, so vital for our wellbeing, and for the harmonious functioning of our society.
I waded through human shit for this story the least you can do is click it. www.londoncentric.media/p/revealed-t...

I have told this story before, but bringing it here. This street has footway parking on both sides which gives 1 metre of walking space beyond the lines. But, if drivers obey the markings, you can't get a car up the middle. Because residents kept getting tickets, I was asked to look at it. 1/n

If I was on FB still I'd share this tree planting event to a list of local friends and know that a couple of dozen people would see it. I miss that. Not worth promoting disinformation and hate speech by staying there though. Please do share though, if I heard correctly there are lots to plant!
The brilliant Blondin Consortium are arranging a nice social tree planting event next Friday and Saturday in Blondin Park, Northfields. Please bring shovels and spades if you have them. Free hot chocolate at the end if the warm feelings of planting new trees isn't motivation enough!
