Today is Trans Day of Remembrance.

Today we remember and grieve all those we have lost. But we also commit – collectively – to fighting for those of us who are left. There will be hope as long as we continue to stand together.

The first wintry bite is making itself felt today & thoughts of a cosy cape are very appealing. This early #1880s example is constructed from stranded down filaments & silk so that it is almost weightless but warm. Precursor to the down jacket but in white bobbly style #V&A #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

Managing Excess Inventory: Tackling Overproduction and Diverting Stock from Landfill and Incineration
Overproduction is one of the fashion industry’s most challenging issues that is as much of a problem for a company’s bottom line as it is for the environment.

Bugonia is definitely not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but it is a brilliant example of a zeitgeisty film that has a *message* about the state of the world without being trite and being a gripping, enjoyable watch above all else. It’s an 8/10 from me.

It is both ethically wrong & fundamentally anti-democratic for one man to command this much wealth and power.

States spent centuries trying to tame the power of over-mighty subjects. The rise of the global barons is not compatible with democracy as we've understood it.

I laugh regularly about the time a tipsy young woman on the bus said to her friends “I bought this on Instagram. Look! You put it on, and it’s all blue, then you wait… then you rub it off and your lips look exactly the same!” And they all had a good giggle with the middle aged man sat behind them
Five Wirecutter staffers — ranging in skin tone, lip shape, age, and makeup expertise — tested the lip-liner stain to learn whether it was as easy to use as folks online make it seem, as well as to see whether the pigment really does last “all day long,” as the marketing suggests.
We Can’t Escape These Peel-Off Lip Stains, So We Tested Them
Most of our testers found the lip stain easy to use and long-lasting, but the patchy finish and large applicator are major cons worth considering.

If y’all would take a second to read past scary headlines, you’d know that not all hope is lost to save coral reefs.

In fact, the authors behind the tipping point paper made sure to mention that we can still save remaining reefs by rapidly reducing emissions.

So don’t give up. The reefs need you.
