And it's not as if there's nothing else to write about either - like the social media ban which seems to be flying largely under the radar (presumably because were some of the biggest initial backers of this policy).

Meanwhile, young Australians get ignored AGAIN: www.crikey.com.au/2025/12/08/t...
What teens are losing in the social media ban, in their own words
From homeschooling meet-ups to buying used bikes, Australian teens told Crikey about what they're saying goodbye to.

The energy being expended by the press corps dropping a new article every 6-8 hours that barely rise above scuttlebutt and tittle-tattle.

No idea quite why it justifies the frantic response that we've gotten - especially because it seems no rules have actually been broken.

Ah fair - and completely agree!

Bigger denser cities are so much better for the environment it warranted saying it twice (assume you meant economy for one of them)!

Maybe I'm not giving enough credit to the Australian voter here, but I feel most would struggle to correctly identify the rate of overseas migration into Australia if you were to give them a pop quiz, which in my view somewhat undercuts any 'legitimate concerns' they may have about the topic.

'If you don't know what I'm talking about you shouldn't be owning a McDonalds'.

Ah well, RIP McDonalds. Was fun while it lasted.

'And in our next episode, I'll discuss ways to prevent forest fires with an arsonist. Do tune in, won't you?'

I felt this got the point across very well also.

Incidentally, many of the redundant checks, verifications and additional hoops to jump through were introduced after a tabloid story about someone getting something they shouldn't caused a government to vow to 'take action' and make the application process even more rigorous.

Oh, and never mind that 128 House Democrats just voted *with* Republicans to kill an impeachment bill last week!

I'll believe that Trump and any of these oligarchical yuppies will face consequences when and only when it happens and not a second earlier.

We were told Trump would face "serious consequences" for launching an attempted coup d'état against the US Government and what happened?

A big goose egg is what happened.

Chris Bowen is the 'Minister for Climate Change and Energy', whereas Dan Tehan is the 'Shadow Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction'.

In fact, the words 'Climate Change' do not appear anywhere in the Shadow Cabinet, Shadow Outer Ministry or Shadow Assistant Ministry positions.
