[he/him] Just goofing around on here and seeing what's up. Following tradition that all my accounts are just PCs I've made.
TERFs, MAGA, and assorted reactionary a-holes can stay away.
So. Just saw Honey Don't, and it's a strange animal of a movie.
In many ways, it is a loving homage to trashy pulp noirs of old. Not the old classics. The ones that DON'T get talked about.
But on the other side is a weird, slow, meditative story about trauma and peace.
And I don't know how to feel.

So I had a very silly thought, but wanted to get your perspective.
SCOTUS. Problem. Very packed.
My solution: add 5 seats. And then split the court in half. So there are 2 panels of 7 judges, and no one can guarantee which they will be in front of.

Woah! This was under 500,000 signatures when I posted this, this is extremely good to see and looks like it might actually hit the goal.

Hey @dwisk.us, know you measure this stuff and are cautious about who you bring in (and rightly so).
But a creator I really enjoy is in the YT crunch and would love to see her on Nebula. Name is Rowan Ellis, and she has a focus on media analysis through a queer, feminist, and disabled lens.

Laptop engineers of the world: REINFORCE THE FUCKING POWER PORT!
Add structural integrity as if it will be assaulted by 10,000 hammers a day!
It is the ONE critical weak point of every fucking laptop! Why do you not know this!

Well, just saw Love Me and it was one hell of a gut punch of a movie. And I especially enjoyed how God damn WEIRD it is.

Just saw "One of Them Days", and that shit was FUNNY!
Like, it has some MINOR pacing issues, slightly too long moments of downtime getting story and character work in.
But more than worth a watch! Keke and Issa doing a fantastic job, and all the supporting roles are SOLID gold.

TTRPG design thread.
Been thinking recently about Action Economy and the habit of games to give little or limited reason to hold back or show caution.
5e is the big one in the room, and it makes missing a bonus action or skipping a reaction almost feel like playing the game wrong.

@fdsignifier.bsky.social watching the Diddy video, and just mentioning that it seems like an audio mixing issue around the 10 minute mark where the song from the prior clip continues playing at full volume over the next 2 minutes. Didn't feel intentional and was little hard to hear.

Just got back from Heretic, and that was a wild, thrilling ride.
Amazing work with what is essentially a 3 person cast. Grant is wonderfully menacing, and East and Thatcher are an amazing double act that bring their characters a depth beyond just the words in the script.

Just got back from We Live in Time, and it was a very inventive and spectacularly acted drama, but it was, like, doing donuts on my soul. Not the big emotional punch, but a sort of slow, harrowing experience.
9/10, loved it.

Nothing about Palestine. Merely protesting the right to free expression.

Just saw Venom: the Last Dance. It was a very stupid, fun, silly movie that genuinely made me wonder "how the fuck are they gonna pay THIS off?" with the story.
It also feels like there's a whole other 30-45 minute OTHER movie that explains a bunch of shit in this one.

“Masking and social distancing at the start of the pandemic were so effective that they eliminated a strain of flu, and now annual flu vaccines have been redesigned because that strain no longer needs to be included in the shot. Amazing.”

A strain of influenza appears to have disappeared from the planet since COVID. As a result, U.S. flu vaccines have been redesigned.
