I sincerely hope Mr. MacIsaac files a lawsuit and that the amount of damages causes Google an existential level of reflection
New from me: The storied fiddler Ashley MacIsaac wanted to play a show at a Nova Scotia First Nation. It got cancelled because Google's AI search summary incorrectly called him a sex offender. Now he's worried for his safety www.theglobeandmail.com/culture/arti...

Race concerns have always been the key to MAGA. When Trump was in the 2016 primary, the single-best poll predictor to determine who would be a Trump voter was the NFL protests. The angrier a voter was about Black players kneeling, the more likely they were to support Trump - like a 1-to-1 match

False analogy alert: in the '30s America was in the depths of the worst economic depression in our history. Unemployment was 15-25%. By contrast, the stock market hit a record high THIS WEEK & Unemployment is under 5%. Sure, the economy was better 2 years ago, but we're not even at '09 levels. Yet.
Opinion | When deportation was called repatriation: The US once expelled 1.8 million people to Mexico

Like today, Americans in the 1930s were reeling from economic hard times. Leaders made Latinos scapegoats and deported immigrants and some US citizens.

Lonsdale should be careful what he wishes for. public executions of the rich/powerful have been REALLY popular at certain points in history. Last I checked, Luigi Mangione had higher favorability than Elon Musk
A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:

Honestly, my first pocket calculator was more of a game-changer than anything i've seen with AI so far
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy
Investors expect AI use to soar. That’s not happening
Recent surveys point to flatlining business adoption

13k comments on one tweet is a massive payout. All of the tweets follow a certain formula, so the content is likely automated using AI technology (e.g., AI generated images and text). Basically running it as a money printing machine. But for those in the US, it translates to low simmering rage.

Court says the old map must be used in 2026. Appeals are certain. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
