Thurmond was afforded a bathroom break and read from the encyclopedia. Booker held the floor the entire time and delivered a consistent, cogent speech for more than 24 hours.

Old enough to remember when Michelle Obama tried doing this and got trashed by republicans for it….but now it’s cool because it’s their idea 🙄
