You can always count on the GOP to come up with new and creative ways to kill the poor and maim children.

If you put these people in a comic book everyone would say no villains could be this over the top.

Murderbot is incredibly well-adapted. It’s got all the heart. All the spectacle. But without being so beholden to book details that it falls flat.

@maryrobinettekowal.com how bad was the urge to add foley to the radio play in the audiobook for The Fated Sky?

Just restarted The Lady Astronauts by the incredible Mary Robinette Kowal and in the first sentence I already want to go back and listen to every audiobook she’s ever narrated.
This is Donald Glover levels of talent. No excuse for anyone to be able to both write AND narrate this well.

OKC has some gorgeous cycling trails. They’ve done some work since I last got them. Just about 2 miles left before we can skip roads almost entirely.

The measles outbreak in Texas is reminding me of the public letter Roald Dahl wrote about losing his daughter to measles in 1962, just before the vaccine was publicly available.

Have you been asked, as a federal worker, to do something you don't want to do? But they won't put it in writing?

DON'T DO IT.

If they're going to punish you? MAKE THEM PUT IT IN WRITING. ALL OF IT.

Document, document, document.

Act confused. Be confused! Go slow. Require clarity. Lots. Document

This is fucking hilarious. Like Medicare has a monstrous anti-fraud army. They’re been at it literally decades. They’re good at their job. The idea that these people are going to walk in and find actual fraud is so fucking stupid.
Musk's latest power grab: your Medicare benefits.

Elon - you're looking in the wrong place. Private insurers in Medicare Advantage overcharged taxpayers by at least $83 billion in 2024 alone.

Public sector HR are almost always decent people.
A USAID HR director sent out this email today to staff letting them know he was placed on administrative leave.

“Today, representatives of the Agency's front office and DOGE instructed me to violate the due process of our employees by issuing immediate termination notices to a group of employees.”

The story the media tried to ignore on Inauguration Day is that Trump's rapid mental decline was on full display -- from rambling, slurred digressions about wall building materials to paranoid conspiracy and revenge fantasies

Trump just literally eliminated an Executive Order to reduce the price of prescription drugs. They are ripping you off, personally. They never gave a shit about the price of anything.

Readers are all different, but for me Seveneves has the best hook in scifi. #BookSky

Trying to find my people here on #booksky and I feel like we all need to post our top 5 books to find each other

● Seveneves
● The Drawing of the Three
● Words of Radiance
● Station Eleven
● Yumi and The Nightmare Painter

It’s hard to pick a top 5. My top two wouldn’t change, but the rest would.

Everyone needs to go easy on your Cosmere-aligned family members this week. Next Friday is our triannual Super Bowl and we’re all just going to spend Thanksgiving trying not to endlessly gush to anyone who asks about holiday plans.

Stormlight is something special.
