At today's March on Washington for Gaza, little kids' shoes and sandals ran down Pennsylvania Ave to represent the 17,400 Palestinian children that "the US has paid for Israel to murder."

1. Today, powerful speeches from trans representatives in Montana SJ Howell and Zooey Zephyr flipped 29 Republicans, killing anti-trans bills.

While some Dems like Newsom abandon trans people, these reps show the power of representation.

Dear Mr. Musk,

What we found out is that each one of us is

1. a brain
2. and an athlete
3. and a basket case
4. a princess
5. and a criminal.

Does that answer your question?

It’s a bit surreal to be told that #GAPol R’s are protecting me from trans girls. I can’t access comprehensive reproductive care. My friends are 3 times as likely to die if they try to have a baby. If one of us is hurt by our partner we can only claim DV if we’re married. But THIS is what we need.

I created this starter pack. Now more than ever, journalists need to investigate, dig deep, share powerful stories, hold bad actors accountable, encourage readers to be active participants-not passive agents-in the events unfolding around us, and we need protection.

Hear me out —

If parents call colleges freaked about their FAFSA data being leaked, schools may have to issue statements — which would reach a whole lot more families about how warped this is.

Organizing isn’t always calling electeds. Sometimes it’s just calling people with a bigger megaphone.
Musk staff have access to student aid data now.

Most of the people reading this have a sense of how bad things are right now.

So for encouragement, here's a thread with examples of folks fighting back.

From a journalist friend: Just spreading the word. The CDC is purging data, so people should archive their favorite CDC datasets today, namely ones around race/ethnic diversity, LGBTQ, and reproductive health. Also health data involving climate. The youth risk behavior survey has already gone down.

TikTok's algorithm makes it a really valuable resource for connecting with communities you haven't even figured out you want to connect with yet. It can be life-changing, and people dismissing it as a dancing-teenager app are showing their ignorance.
TikTok had a massive community of #ActuallyAustistic people, likely the largest autistic community in the world ever. It included all ages and speakers and non-speakers.

It also had a large chronically ill community.

The potential loss of community for many otherwise isolated folks is significant.
