Elon Musk is not a Federal employee or a political appointee. DOGE is not a real department. None of their activities are legal. This is a coup. The Republicans in Congress are willing participants in it. At what point do Democrats in DC get that and start acting like it? It’s not the price of eggs!

Spent the day baking because carbs are my go-to coping mechanism. Bagels were sort of a bust… never worked with such STICKY dough before. But I’ll try again. Currently waiting for a belated birthday carrot cake for Mike to cool so I can make some cream cheese frosting for it.

I’m so flipping terrified. I miss the before times. I’m sad my youngest won’t even remember them. My middle and oldest kids will just barely remember. 🥺

Well, shit. Mike and I wanted so much to name our “Myles” a more unique name when he was born in 2013. (Having been a Mike & Amanda born in the early 80s, we hated how common our names were!) FAIL. 😩😂
In children per year, the US birth rate is at an all-time low, but in Miles’ per hour it’s at an all time high.

Today is the first day I’ve felt well enough to pick myself up and plan something practical: garden & preserving/freezer-filling plans for spring. Adding to the layer hen flock, freshening does. All the things to keep food coming for me & my loved ones in uncertain times.

I'm thinking about starting a Substack with articles about canning, frugal cooking, and that sort of thing. There's lots of content out there on those topics, yet I always get asked for help. I think maybe my angle is that I work it into a realistic/relatable lifestyle. (I'm *SO* not a tradwife.)
