seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

"Greenpeace understood that standing with Standing Rock meant being accountable for what could follow, even if what followed was legal harassment, internal conflict, and potential bankruptcy. That’s what solidarity actually looks like: showing up even when showing up means risking it all."
How Greenpeace Lost a $667 Million Trial -- But Saved Its Soul
Greenpeace lost big but stood firm after Energy Transfer sued the group for its role in the Standing Rock protests over the Dakota Access Pipeline.

I found this interesting. I really like the idea of adding humor as a form of protest and ridiculing the madness. wagingnonviolence.org/2025/04/what...

I can hardly believe Sen. Booker is still going. This is what I want to see. More of this. More attention paid. More passion demonstrated. More of our representatives standing up for us and speaking truth to power. He has me in tears.

One of the lease sales in the Gulf of MEXICO that my team has challenged was found illegal yesterday by the court. We had a win!
BREAKING: Ruling in favor of environmental and Gulf-based groups, a federal court found a 73-million acre offshore oil and gas lease sale in the Gulf of Mexico held by the Interior Department two years ago.

From an operational security perspective, this is the highest level of fuckup imaginable. These people cannot keep America safe.
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

On Mondays, I send an email to my team w/an agenda for our meeting. I've begun starting this with a short paragraph of something cheerful that happened to me the week prior. Just a little something to start everyone's Monday with a bit of positivity. It's the little things we can do for each other ❤️

BREAKING: Earthjustice is suing to block Trump's illegal ocean drilling order. Today, we filed the first major environmental lawsuit against the new Trump administration. We’re challenging an illegal order by Trump to remove protections for vulnerable ocean areas from future oil-and-gas leasing.

Just filed the first environmental lawsuit (of likely many) against one recent E.O. rescinding Biden's withdrawal of large swaths of offshore lands from oil and gas drilling!
This lawsuit was a huge push to get filed and many incredible people put everything they had into it. Great work, Team!
Alaska Lawsuit Aims to Block Trump’s Offshore Drilling Plans
The suit, filed in Alaska, is likely to be the first of many challenging the administration’s goal of expanding fossil fuel production.

DOJ leadership has put all Public Integrity Section lawyers into a room with 1 hour to decide who will dismiss Adams indictment or else all will be fired. Sending them strength to stand by their oath, which is to support the Constitution, not the president’s political agenda. 🇺🇸

While this regime is claiming we need energy dominance and the only way to achieve this is by unfettered drilling for O&G, they are misleading everyone. We are not in an energy crisis, unless we are referring to clean energy. We have more than enough domestic leases that aren't even producing yet.
Trump wants more drilling, but the oil market is already saturated
Despite President's Trump directives, oil companies can't drill if there is little market for their product.

The Env't & Nat. Resources Div. of the Dep't of Justice faces its most profound crisis since it was established in 1909. This on top of all the other destruction from this regime. Today, my sister said "we need to let our differences go and be family. We need to support each other." FUCK that.

Thank you, @democracyforward.bsky.social for filing for a TRO against the potentially catastrophic pause on federal grants. This pause affects financial assistance (including for foreign aid, NGOs, Tribal governments, scientific research, etc.). This directive is insane; the challenge is critical.

Its a fine example of the combined incompetence and malevolence that is the hallmark of this President. Its not even proofread.

Biden's recent ban on drilling offshore in sensitive areas is going to be challenged and my team is watching closely to defend the ban. Trump previously tried to "un-ban" areas Obama designated. We challenged that in an Alaska court which ruled against Trump. There is precedent to rely on here...
In his final weeks in office, President Biden protected 625 million acres of vulnerable areas of the ocean from oil and gas drilling — in a way that incoming president-elect Donald Trump can't easily undo.
President Biden Permanently Protects Vulnerable Areas of the Ocean from Oil and Gas Drilling
The president used a federal law to ban future oil and gas drilling in parts of the Atlantic, Pacific, Alaska, and the Gulf of Mexico.
