I really don’t want to keep going back and forth bc we just aren’t going to agree. But uber and Lyft also had to get approval to operate in our state when they started fwiw.

You’re right-other discourse I saw online today was about banning it and I mixed it up.

And human drivers do all of those things too!!!! I just don’t think it’s our place to interfere in the market this way. But agree to disagree.

Right but banning Waymo IS to the direct benefit of uber and Lyft. So I don’t think you can ignore that.
November 20, 2025 at 5:19 PM
If we are going to say whichever company is safest gets the market, then I don’t think uber and Lyft win either!
November 20, 2025 at 5:14 PM
I mean yea that’s very concerning. I guess I’d counter that I can find hundreds and thousands of horrifying uber/Lyft experiences. So I’m not going to demand they get a monopoly of this market!
November 20, 2025 at 5:11 PM
You’re not gonna catch me giving two horrible companies a monopoly!!!
November 20, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Yea have you been in a uber/Lyft alone as a woman? Wouldn’t recommend

If it’s concern over current workers losing their jobs, that hasn’t happened in other cities that have Waymo.

If it’s a safety argument, I fail to see how untrained ordinary human drivers are any safer than a trained robot with oversight. Human drivers cause so many injuries and fatalities on the roads.

It's been a success in cities much larger than Minneapolis and I'm happy to see an option where women feel safe, where we're not being harassed in the backseat of an uber/lyft. It feels to me like there are larger anti-worker hills to die on than a few hundred Waymos hitting the streets in DT Mpls.

Wait till people find out how many human drivers kill animals and other humans!!!!!!
