True, there are very few countries that recognise ODP as a profession, the RCoA in the UK recommends that anaesthetic practitioners are specifically trained - so in the UK that is an ODP who does it as part of their undergrad or a nurse who takes a 6 month course post-registration.

If you think you might need something, ask your ODP to go get it! It can always be put back later unused, but nothing more annoying than thinking about it, not doing it, then needing it in a hurry! :)

An old favourite. I was taught to always use a Mac 4 blade rather than a Mac 3 bc of the 4 was too long you could just not put it in as far. Made sense but I always got a better view w a Mac 3. Took me a decade to work out Mac 3 should be default blade & why.

A nice tip I heard recently was putting a NIBP cuff on each arm for longer cases that don't necessarily need an arterial line - then switching every hour or so - so that the same arm isn't being used every 3-5 minutes throughout the case.
