Finally made the jump from the Bog of Eternal Stench.

Purveyor of bad jokes, lover of movies and books, frequently too tired to care about my own spelling.
I object on entertainment value reasons because we might get fewer of those "I own a small private island in the Caribbean but this 1p tax now means I have to decide between food or heating" or "I bought my London flat through hard work, frugal living and 30 generations of inherited wealth" posts.

The cognitive dissonance on display from some UK Bluesky accounts in their reactions to these two events has been a wonder to behold. Some very funny contortionism being deployed.

Have you ever seen Holy Flying Circus? A funny dramatisation of the whole situation. Worth a watch.

Not much of it was reaching TOTP at this stage though.

Everyone needs a post-music career, I'm glad she found hers.

Didn't Trump make up an executive order declaring the US border to be a military base. Sounds like more of that nonsense.

This line would be a lot funnier if people weren't just repeating the same errors of judgement today as they did back then. The populism virus sweeping the country is as virulent and harmful as ever.

Isn't it literally their oath of service to not obey illegal orders?

It won't be long before such pseudonyms will be used to conceal AI written stories (if they haven't already started doing this) rather than unnamed human authors ghost-writing for a fixed fee.

Also, it doesn't matter if they managed to actually murder some people who were trafficking drugs rather than random fishermen, it's still entirely illegal to execute people, good or bad, on a whim. It pretty much fits the international legal definition of piracy.

Dan's started drinking heavily while writing his bits? The press equivalent of drunken Amazon purchases, waking up the next day to find you've posted some batshit crazy load of twaddle that you now have to defend?

Ok I feel personally targeted now...

Microsoft every time they release a new version of Windows and completely change the UI, forcing you to try to find ways to undo all their 'improvements'.

First episode of the seventh series, Ted Hastings steps out of the shower and announces that they're still looking for H and that the ridiculous train-wreck of an ending to the sixth series never happened...

It's the "we're doing our best" that makes that line, like having people murdered is some kind of addiction he's attending meetings over.

"Hi, I'm 'Ralph' and it's been six weeks since I last had one of my critics brutally murdered on my order."

Maybe he's a teenager from a 1990s high school movie? Those always look about 30.
