Well, this is disgraceful. The Kennedy Center board (composed almost entirely of President Trump’s allies) voted on Thursday to change the name of the performing arts center to the Trump-Kennedy Center.

There’s still no clear plan for where these programs or scientists go, how the work continues, or how disruptions are avoided. Congress could intervene but for now, this is a deliberate move to dismantle core public-safety science under the banner of ideology.

In Illinois, ICE agents have been documented swapping license plates to hide their identity. Under Illinois law, this constitutes a Class A misdemeanor.

The state has made clear that this law will be enforced. Federal agents are not exempt from Illinois vehicle and registration statutes.
