Today 22 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli military while seeking aid. Yesterday, at least 69 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli military—29 while waiting for aid trucks in another death trap as they struggled to feed their families.

Last night was rough for Tahani, her family, and many in her community. In Gaza food scarcity is causing flour to be sold at 1200 NIS (New Israël Shekel) or approx. 400$ for flour.
For 20 days to feed her family it takes a 25kg bag.

I spoke briefly with her husband yesterday and he told me about his mini market that he used to run. I hope one day he can run it again and provide for his family as he once did.

I guess my main response to the embassy workers’ assassination is to think of it in the same way I do most of the “conflict” over Palestine: who gets our empathy? Not who deserves our empathy, but who receives empathy?

If we can't accept that our politicians work for Israel than we are no better than any MAGA following a cult leader.

Democracy probably shouldn't be universal... maybe people should need to show some basic understanding of how a healthy democracy functions, some knowledge of the world and events, and such. Like a voting license. I know it doesnt sound very democratic, but the average person cannot handle democracy
