I think Malcolm Gladwell says “10,000 hours” in his book Outliers. It seems pretty on point considering on year is 8760 hours. Dividing that up amongst dedicated time to the craft and life, that’s a few years invested.

I feel like it's more cultural. A lot of me and my friends think it's funny that the game is played by others. But we don't actually indulge in it because it's stupid and weird. Especially when certain words have to be totally stripped from your vocabulary to avoid a pause. That's insane. 🤣
