Jesse Singal, serial Twitter harasser of trans people, joined bsky a few days ago. They've suspended and unsuspended him a few times and @safety.bsky.app isn't replying to ats about him.

If he stays here, that signifies that the platform is already lost.

I have a compulsive edit tendency that's very hard to quell.
If FA says "your babyfur stuff is child porn" and then bans me, they're calling me a pedo. FA asserts "we don't mean it. There's a false positive rate." I don't care. I don't want to be in a place where queer people are presumed to be child rapists. So, the false positive rate needs to be zero. Failing that, to the extent that we accept a risk of calling arbitrary LGBTQ people pedophiles, we have to assume that risk based on something. Babyfurs and Pokefuckers share FA's interest in not interacting with actual pedophiles -- they've been dealing with the problem for literal decades -- and yet no statement made by a babyfur or Pokefucker in this channel has had any apparent effect on FA's stated policy. Nor has anyone posted any evidence at all that these communities have a higher rate of pedophilia in the first place. No one has even asserted this. It has been simply treated as self-evident. To the extent FA has changed their policy at all, it has been from one vibes-based ruling to a different vibes-based ruling. FA's public policy theorizing has been entirely constructed on mod-originated theories on what the symbolic meaning of this content is. Typically, these theories completely diverge from the fandom-assigned meaning. (For instance, I've quite literally never seen a Pokefucker assert that unevolved Pokemon represent children.) These theories seem to come from a process that starts by assuming the basic appeal of the content is pedophilic and that it's just a matter of drawing a line corresponding to an acceptable level of pedophilia. I cannot think of a social explanation for this that makes sense, except that FA's staff team, regardless of public statements, genuinely does not believe in the existence of non-pedophiles in these fandoms. Non-babyfurs should remember: to Normals and conservatives, all furries look like freaks and pedos. It doesn't matter if we impose a moratorium on lurid gifs of Pikachu's ass: they still think we fuck dogs.
