I haven't seen this talked about much on Bluesky, probably because there's like near zero hip-hop representation on this website and I feel a good amount of people would pearl-clutch about copyright infringement. But this is another important wedge between Spotify and artists
I've talked about Whosampled before as the site where snitching got Return Of The Soul removed from streaming services. It is now being officially looped into Spotify via this SongDNA feature that presents as artist-supportive!

It would be an absolute dream to have a platform that automatically split royalties between artists and the ARTISTS (not rights holders) they sampled, but this once again is not that. This is a baby putt putt golf course set up for rights holders to pick off beatmakers who touched their property.
