here’s how i position everything in the pouch, in front of the battery. a quick look inside shows you can pull anything you need quickly. see alt text for more detail including quick screwdriver assembly.

the first rod with the Philips 2 bit preloaded in it in leftmost position, second rod, 711L (ratchet pointing up! that’s important!) followed by the bits. then, the USB C cable cooled in two loops (in the pouch the two connectors both point down to the bottom of the pouch), then if you need the adapter, it can fit in the center of the cable’s loop.

everything packed in the pouch. you can assemble the screwdriver in about three seconds; use your dominant hand to pull the driver and keep the pouch in the other hand, then set the first extension into the base of the handle, pull that and the set the second extension into the end of the first extension. disassemble in reverse, using your thumb to pinch each extension so it stays behind when you pull the driver away. it’ll make more sense when you do it once or twice.

everything zipped up in the pouch! despite all the crap it doesn’t look much different than it did empty

it fits easily in my pants pocket with tons of room to spare. i keep my phone in the same pocket with the screen facing away from it.

i kept the extension that was on the backside of the bit holder and then sourced another from a junky set of bits; if you don’t have any just ask someone who owns tools, they probably have twelve dozen of these. with these pieces you can quickly easily assemble the driver you need on demand

the extensions, one installed in each end of the 711L, create a tool that more closely resembles an automotive ratchet.

one extension rod inserted into the handle of the 711L, and the other inserted into the first rod, and finally the 1/4” Philips 2 bit, creating a tool that resembles a standard manual screwdriver

get this stubby screwdriver set, and put the stubby handle in the junk drawer. you’re really after this set of double-ended bits and their labeled holder. use flush cutters to snip off the piece that holds the extension rod to get it flat and so it will fit the pouch.

eight double-sided bits (giving you the ability to turn a shocking 16 different fastener types) in a narrow, flat holder. PH2/SL6 is missing because i was just showing it to you, but I keep it pre-loaded in the handle since it’s the most frequently used bit by far.

the 711L Mini Ratchet is both a right angle and straight driver that uses bog standard 1/4” bits, like most standard screwdrivers.

grab the shortest USB-C cable, and if your iPhone still uses lightning, add an adapter as well. i have not experimented with one, but could see using a cable with a left angle could work, im just concerned about fitting the different connector in the pouch

shortest USB C to USB C cable i could find. the lightning adapter came in a two pack, which, fine, i honestly might lose one.

this is the zip pouch from Wild Sky Gear, this is the ‘X-Pac purple PRYM camo’, but any of the X-Pac options should work. i DID buy one in different fabrics but it was too inflexible to fit the battery! IT IS A REALLY TIGHT FIT! see alt text on 4th pic

putting the battery in the pouch, demonstrating how tight of a fit it is

yoj will be plugging the cable into the battery from this point only, so the USB C port and button MUST be visible from the zipper in this direction! if you put the port on the same side as the zipper head when the pouch is open you won’t be able to plug into it. you are NOT going to want to pull the battery in and out of the pouch much, if ever, so get it right first time!

this is the battery, i can recharge my iPhone from a 20% warning to 100%, twice, and still have a little juice left in it, that’s crazy

imo just get the USB C model because you’re not going to use the integrated cable anyway. and be sure to apply that 20% coupon!
