Now, *that's* what AI should be doing, instead of writing buggy programs and hallucinating wrong answers.

As somebody said once, I want AI to wash the dishes, so that I can write poetry; I don't want to wash the dishes so that AI can write poetry.

Dragged myself through William Alexander’s Sunward, which is “Science Fiction” but I only managed to keep going by pretending it was a novelization of a Wes Anderson movie (I think he’d do a pretty good job with this one actually.)

It was not to my liking but did remind me of other works that […]

Most of my desktop images are calm and soothing Cape Cod landscapes from my runs. And then there’s this one from SHOP THERAPY in Provincetown.

There’s a well-known Chicagoan on Bluesky who is reposting messages from people saying what a great and clever person he is.

Unfollowed lol

Anyway, on the shortest days of the year, as we reach peak darkness, I (and maybe many of us?) need reminders to find the joy when I can.

Thanks for indulging me this am

Google Gemini has a “watch this YouTube video for me,” which works… really well?

(Of course Claude is blocked from accessing YouTube content. That’s not a problem for anyone, I’m sure.)

In case you’re not familiar with the iconic, Akira-style music video for Ken Ishii's “Extra” from his 1995 album Jelly Tones, directed by acclaimed anime director and animator Koji Morimoto. Warning: the video is very weird and violent 😬

The Spotify thought I might like this song. I saw Ken Ishii perform it live with Co-Fusion in an underground club in Sendai towards the end our year working as a JET in Japan. We completely just stumbled across a flyer, bought tickets, went to the show, and it was amazing. It was so fucking […]
