He wasn't invited at the Mar-a-Lago for Christmas Dinner and he had a meltdown.
Elon Musk tells an already quasi-illiterate group of people that they don’t need school.

This man is a disaster.

He can't control it but someone else is controlling it and rewriting history. Wikipedia does everything but tell the truth.
If you've never donated to Wikipedia, now's the time. Elon Musk is attacking it because it's one of the only sources of honest, curated information that he can't control.

It is this simple.

I have seen people write essays paint Ireland as antisemites and astronomical growth of anti-irish racism over the last 48 hours. Ireland crime is it dared to be anti-genocide.

I personally hate read receipts. They infringe on people privacy and condition, if not force, people to continue conversation they hate, especially with other people they care about.

I appreciate my mom checking up on me the third time today, but I don't want to reply nor bluetick her.
imo messaging apps should not just tell you if your message has been read but also (through the power of modern facial recognition technology) describe the face the person made when they read it

Its hard to learn, unlearn, and relearn when everything is basically propaganda. Every book you read, every video you watch, and every audio you listen to is trying to change your mind instead of informing you. It's so overwhelming and boring.

A person's Social media space should literally be an eco chamber where they come to interact with people who share their interests and beliefs.
Bluesky is an Eco chamber

I just finished this excellent 2020 book by Rashid Khalidi, and it has helped to shape my thinking on Palestine in important ways. In particular, I recommend the conclusion, which is concise summary and analysis useful as an undergraduate reading and for writing an introductory lecture.

Moving forward, photographers will have to post more raw photos. It's getting hard to differentiate over edited images and AI produced ones: they're both soulless and hard to look at. Even when the subject is a waterfall or serene rural farm.

Zuckerberg bought Instagram because he was worried it gained 1million users. Bluesky is at 20m.
Zuck going back to his playbook of copying features from any social network that gains traction, all while suggesting Bluesky isn’t big enough to worry about.

Two hours on bluesky and I love the content. No race baiting, engagement farming for ad revenue, and importantly AI written low quality threads.

And mind you, I haven't even curated my TL. This is just what the algorithm is showing me on the Discover timeline.

Sweet!

Real Athletes are in it for the glory and legacy. Jake Paul is doing for money.

Real boxing fans don't watch Jake Paul, they pay to watch real boxers.

I don't like JP and his grifting but he's helping the retired boxing legends make some real money. Most of them were going broke.
Jake Paul is playing in y'all face. He will never lose one of these fights because he's only fighting out of their prime old fighters for a pay day.

Most right wing governments tick at least 10 boxes, and the average liberal/left leaning governments tick at least 5 boxes.

The whole world and its countries are going fascists.
How many of these do we have?

We have a lot of stray cats in my City (Mombasa). Everyone gives them food, the cats are friendly, social, albeit untidy. Wish someone could invest in good rescue house here. The existing ones are typically underfunded and overstretched 😔 😟

Not a good idea. Fascists typically ban down libraries FIRST. It happened in Baghdad in 1258 by invading Moguls, Alexandria in 48 BC by Julius Caesar, Spain in 587 AD by the Catholics, and recently, the NAZIs in 1930s Germany.
If civil war breaks out, meet me at the library.
