It took nearly four hours and fiddling a few things around with a recovery USB stick before it finally got rolling again. I was stating to get a bit worried!

Unfortunately the USB floppy drive is not recognised as a boot device, otherwise I could try booting into DOS :P

By display settings I mean there's no built-in setup for colour balance, brightness and contrast. Out of the box the only options are colour profiles and xgamma settings, but while I was able to improve the display with them, it still isn't perfect. And I couldn't find an easy solution last night.
