it's crazy how well they translated 3D Ninja Gaiden to the DS
easily has the best writing of modern Ninja Gaiden, there's some good character work in here
a lot of the bosses are reused from 1 and stylus only controls mean non precise inputs

went for a replay after finishing Lumines Arise and even though this game is still basically perfect, it's amazing to see the evolution between these two games

this is one of the most beautiful games i've ever played, an unbelievable audiovisual experience that almost moved me to tears
tetris effect was amazing but this is on a whole other level
stealth contender for game of the year

penned by the great Nagisa Oshima, Jissoji creates an existential nightmare of a single room thriller, weighing the banality of life vs death and political uncertainties at the time
one of the most claustrophobic films I’ve ever seen

here's the thing
compared to Black, I think it's a bit weaker in terms of removing the puzzle solving elements and streamlining NG1 as more of a pure action game, and i question some of the balancing decisions
but it's still Ninja Gaiden 1

i genuinely adore this film
the Jason Lives of Saw, you have a film centered on John in his most personal game in the series
it's not afraid to poke fun at itself while keeping the magic, and it tries to reconcile the series' questionable ethics
the best one

it's more of a Saw film than Jigsaw, but it lacks what makes the series special
while the commentary on police corruption is welcome, the traps are weak, the twist is lame, and it's 90 minutes of Chris Rock workshopping bad standup
