I live outside the Seattle city limits, but this has motivated me to visit downtown more often and support the city in a positive way.

Katie Wilson co-founded the Transit Riders Union, an activist group that has been heavily involved in Seattle metro politics for 14 years. she is responsible for things like minimum wage increases, progressive business taxes, and a low income transit payment card

What's your point, buddy?

Are Oxford graduates more deserving of an affordable Seattle? Is she not allowed to choose how she lives her life?

Do you think a college degree guarantees a certain level of income? What decade are you from 😂

I don't think "I grew up poor" (i.e. working-class) means you automatically understand what it's like to be a young or not-so-young renter in a city where houses cost a million dollars and rent never stops going up and up. This is why people liked Katie Wilson—she knows what it's like to live here.

All of this is in service of calling it "offensive" to suggest he doesn't understand what it's like to be, say, 35 and unable to afford a one-bedroom apartment in Seattle. Of course it's not offensive, and it has always been incredibly weird (and defensive) that he responds this way.

Hes a sore loser and since nobody concedes anymore you get to be a sour asshole on your way out.

OK, "misunderstanding" is the wrong word here. There's a purposeful disinformation campaign from right wingers in WA to sow doubt about our elections. I honestly can't believe @mayorofseattle.bsky.social Harrell would say something like this, especially after the good stuff he said prior.

Woah, what the hell was that? Bruce just said that there are people telling him not to concede because there were "anomalies." That's a wild and irresponsible thing to say.

What worked against Mayor Harrell was HIS RECORD

I've held two roles where I've had to "fire" volunteers.

Do you know how much you have to put up with before making the decision that a particular volunteer/donor is more harmful than helpful?

What do you mean?

Harrell has ALWAYS been besties with AMR and totally didn't try to tank the ballot measure on how to fund the new Social Housing Developer (also a Katie Wilson special) by proposing absolutely no new funding mechanisms for it?

Also the restructured B&O tax we just voted to pass

And she managed VOLUNTEERS, do people know how difficult that is?!?!?!
