On the east side of campus, work is going vertical on multiple residence halls being developed by TCU and American Campus Communities. These developments include a 1,322-bed first-year residential hall, 454-bed sophomore hall and 120 bed town homes for upper-division students.

Morado on Berry, a two-building development between the Bookstore and Molly Reid Hall, has made the most progress. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the mixed-use buildings will offer 779 beds and include an integrated parking garage and street-level retail activating Berry Street.

Construction is ramping up on the Texas Christian University campus, with nearly half a billion dollars in new construction set to significantly expand on-campus housing capacity.

A band of bas-relief running horses is taking shape on the façade of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame's expansion. The 16,000-square-foot, $19.7 million addition, set to open in November 2026, will introduce a new entrance, a larger gift shop, and expanded exhibit areas.

Across 8th Avenue, a new facility for Kids' Place Child Development Center is ongoing. The original Kid’s Place was demolished to make way for the aforementioned West Tower. Other planned projects on the campus include a 504-car garage south of the West tower and expanded utility plants.

Excavation for the Cook Children's Health Care System’s West Tower is nearly complete. The 700,000-sq ft addition will significantly expand the hospital's capacity, adding Cardiac ICU, NICU, and pediatric ICU beds, and new space for other services including new operating rooms and imaging services.

The L-shaped development includes with 11,000 sqft of ground floor retail space and a three-level parking podium with 540 spaces. Above the podium is a 5 story, 100,000 sqft of Class A office building and a 7-story, 226 unit multifamily building with amenity deck above the garage.

Phase II, whose design will be complete in the fall of 2026, will demolish the Arena in early 2027 and expand the convention center’s footprint to the north towards 9th street with more meeting and ballroom space. Construction on the entire complex is expected to be complete before 2030.

The re-oriented annex and loading docks will allow Commerce Street to be straightened out, opening new property for potential high-rise hotel development to complement the center. Commerce is expected to reopen in November this year.

Phase 1 of the Fort Worth Convention Center, encompassing renovated loading docks and a new southeast entrance, is expected to be completed by December 2025. On the interior, a new kitchen and tasting room opened in May. Funding for the $95M project comes from ARPA and Culture and Tourism Fund.

Inside, the museum will contain 10,000 square feet of gallery space, a 250-seat theater, black box theater space, a business incubator/co-working space, and a food hall highlighting culturally diverse cuisine.
