Knives out: dead man walking is a jolly romp. A little darker than the gloriously insane glass onion, but the actors all pull their weight well. Even if the saddest part was near the end when Daniel Craig and Jeffrey wright stood together and my mind went Felix and bond areback

Apropos of nothing but listening to a podcast on film who go a bit of History when the film was released . Today’s film was 1965 which saw the establishment of the UKS’s first Pizza Hut in London, and KFC in Preston in Lancashire.

Had a sore throat start on Friday afternoon and it continued on Saturday so when to bed at 8pm last night. Feel like I’ve been hit by a truck so have been in bed all day. Just beginning to feel a little bit human. Not the weekend I had planned.

At least the wind has decided it is bored and has disappeared back to whence it came from. The light drizzle and grey blanket remains to taunt us. All we are missing is James Herbert’s fog, or a Stephen king mist.

It’s been quite the week and to end it all by forgetting to take my headphones to the gym finishes it on an absolute nadir.

When you are half way through a supposed serene yoga session and suddenly, it hits you. I didn’t take out my steamed veg from the microwave I was having for dinner! All serenity lost. I am now enjoying them as a bed time snack.

A lovely trip out to the under appreciated corbridge roman town site. There is still a lot more buried under the adjacent field.

I never had Peter Dinklage portraying Poirot with Belgian accent on my Agatha Christie bingo card but there we are. ABC murders is a brilliant story and he isn’t too bad to be fair.

An Agatha Christie food classic from the pale horse. Banana and bacon sandwich. Good lord, was this a thing? I’m not sure but I’m never trying it.

A work related conference in an RAF museum is almost like a perfect fit. Apart from the monstrous train journey to go west from east in the UK. But some splendid ladies in the Cold War hanger.

It has been years since I came across a novel that once I started I really could not put down until I finished it, but this book is fantastic and arguably, the best story I’ve read in years. Loved every page.

Thoroughly enjoying the rest is history concentration on Greek myths. A mention of Aristophanes and Dionysius today. It brought back fonr memories of seeing it the way it should be engaged with, on stage as part of the.Cambridge classical play! I laughed heartily at their Aristophanes frogs
