It is 6 Wednesdays to Christmas Eve and this has unlocked my annual tradition. Tonight we begin again as we do every year with episode 1 of this gloriously made production from 1985z the wolves are running again.

A lovely trip out to the under appreciated corbridge roman town site. There is still a lot more buried under the adjacent field.

I never had Peter Dinklage portraying Poirot with Belgian accent on my Agatha Christie bingo card but there we are. ABC murders is a brilliant story and he isn’t too bad to be fair.

A work related conference in an RAF museum is almost like a perfect fit. Apart from the monstrous train journey to go west from east in the UK. But some splendid ladies in the Cold War hanger.

It has been years since I came across a novel that once I started I really could not put down until I finished it, but this book is fantastic and arguably, the best story I’ve read in years. Loved every page.

Remarkably therapeutic on a Friday evening!

A quarter of a century since PJ Harvey released the fabulous album, ‘stories from the city, stories from the sea’ one of her very best albums.

I really do not take full advantage of seeingAI app, although every time I go in it’s been improved, updated or had new features added. The photo description tool is getting better and better

The weather in urbino is far nicer than Nottinghamshire?
September 15, 2025 at 8:24 PM
My friend is wandering around urbino in Italy and sends me the most wonderful pictures of Roman related frescos. Here the Romans divide the clothes of Christ. The vibrancy of these colours after half a millennia

I refuse on principle to ever pay £55 for a tee shirt, but golly this one is sorely tempting and especially beautiful! I am of course not adverse to someone else paying £55 on a tee shirt for me!

The joy of a visual impairment is that for the last three weeks, until I turned them over for no reason today and noticed, I have been wearing these pair of shoes. Both belonging to another shoe in the cupboard. Nobody noticed but it’s so frustrating!

Stratford was lovely last night in the autumn sun. As were the statues of the bard, Prince Hal, lady Macbeth, hamlet and falstaff. Enjoying the sunshine

Finally made it to the university of Nottingham archaeological museum with daughter today to take a gander at this wonderful, mysterious, Roman artefact in the flesh so to speak. The late 3rd century Norton Disney dodecahedron. Smaller than I thought but lovely piece! Dated around the late 3rd C

A trip home to the bay this past week. Always lovely, and nostalgic and good to see my mum as always who has got really old and yet I have not aged beyond 18 which seems odd

Quite literally now on holiday. I wish you could smell the aroma of this single malt - so wonderfully smoky.

A doodle from a few days ago. I have spent far too much of my last fortnight thinking about wizards and eeries; and Tolkien

Reminds me of that clouseau line. ‘I thought you said your dog did not bite.’ To which the reply was, ‘that…not my dog.’
