I'm not sure it's in the self interest of America's tech bro billionaires to suggest that we bring back public executions to punish the most destructive people in our society.
A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:

I had to implement an API for an interview. It was in a framework I don't have a lot of experience in, Express. I completely screwed it up by spending too much time on auth. I guess working with frameworks like Django and Ruby on Rails, you can take auth for granted.

As I have said to students nowadays, the most important thing one learns in school is how to learn, and using LLMs completely defeats that objective. The process matters.

You don't use a fork lift the gym. The immediate result—weights up in the air—is not always the key reason to do something.
It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

I have been trying to get into the habit of going through open-source codebases on GitHub. My goal is to better understand how robust software should be written. I would love to know what some of you do to make sense of these huge projects?

These outages seem to be getting a bit too common. I wonder if there's some sort of correlation between AI adoption in development and the outages.

I am making a small application, for its deployment purposes. I am thinking of making a bash script and setting it up as a cron job that runs each day.

The script would track a GitHub branch and pull code if it detects changes in the branch. Need to check best practices. let's see how it goes.
