talia jane @taliaotg Met with my lawyer today and got a nifty script to tape to the inside of my front door. They also gave me a blank one "to put on twitter" so here you go! DO NOT LET COPS INTO THE HOUSE. Speak to them through the door/intercom. Make sure to get their name, field office, and phone number. Our lawyer is Phone #: () If they have a warrant, ask them to slide it under the door. Then back up from the door and read it out loud, noting what they are allowed to look for, and where. DO NOT SPEAK TO POLICE WITHOUT A LAWYER. (You can't talk your way out of an arrest, but you can talk your way into a conviction!) Say: "I AM GOING TO REMAIN SILENT, AND I WANT TO SPEAK TO A LAWYER!"* *remember to actually remain silent!
