he wants to abolish the income tax and fund the government almost entirely through tariffs, thereby delivering the most regressive bonanza to the rich in the history of American taxation. He has said this many many times. He said it *at the announcement* and yet pieces like this just ignore it.

If Musk doesn't end his evening in a squad car, Wisconsin is just announcing that sufficiently wealthy & connected people get to publicly announce they're committing crimes, and the state will be too afraid to do anything about it. Criminal law is for the poor.

6/ In any case, there’s lots of very bad stuff going on right now. But put the big law firm stuff higher on your radar. Obviously not the most flashy or even sympathetic ‘victims’. But big picture it’s probably an even bigger deal than some of the more high profile horror stories.

(5/X) I don't mean this to sound doomy, I think Elon is becoming toxic politically. While the media and Times/Atlantic reader types have some strange respect for Elon, he just seems like an asshole to normal people.
