hm. i had a veeery specific image of chabad & the rebbe painted for me for several years, but i have received some alternative information in recent months, that has shifted my personal opinion to a more critical position.

Here's a note accompanying my little story about why I wrote it, and a sneak preview of it's contents:
This work is political satire about the right wing politics and media sphere in the U.S. and the cadre of hypocritical, fork-tongued serpents who inhabit it. One thing that really blows me away about these “people” is how often they boldfaced lie about every possible thing (even things that are laughably absurd and obviously untrue) whenever another act of public violence and/or domestic terrorism happens in this failing nation, in order to further their pathetic little pet project of making sure that every queer person in America is behind bars, in some sort of an asylum or “clinic”, or dead. They'll shoehorn disgusting propaganda about us into just about anything, and are one fever dream away from blaming us for inclement weather and cancer rates. This crusade has made these people very wealthy and brought them much fame. This is its primary purpose, but it serves another too: it obfuscates the rampant sexual crimes and abuses of professional underlings and children that happen within their own midst and distracts the public from their sexual evildoing by pointing a libelous and accusatory finger at the activists, writers, lawmakers, and artists who seek to create a world in which no queer person is vulnerable to sexual exploitation and abuse at the hands of these largely-closeted cowards. There are very few right wing pundits and politicians who aren’t comically perverted behind closed doors. Many are very careful, and surround themselves with both willing, silent and complicit subjects who want favors, and also hapless young subjects who are too powerless and afraid to stand up to them. For these reasons, it is not easy to do much serious investigative work into their wrongdoing. Most survivors do not want to talk, and for very understandable reasons. Charlie Kirk’s anonymous victims will never, ever get their get their day in court or with the press, and he got to die with that shiny, plastic public image as a clean-cut evangelical father and husband intact. However, sometimes you can express yourself in other ways, when there is no realistic way to expose the literal truth about something. Sometimes you can express something that is only just emotionally true, which in some ways can resonate even more than the actual, sobering cold hard truth. Fortunately, for those of us who are less rich and powerful than our enemies, you don’t have to be super careful when you’re writing fiction. It is very, very difficult for public figures to sue people for satirical depictions; it’s protected speech under the first amendment. These “people” in right wing media (of course) never have to be careful with their words in their own "journalism" and "cultural criticism". Their pockets are heavily lined, they have extremely powerful friends, and purposely pick targets who would have a very materially difficult time suing them. This is a bitter pill to swallow, yes, but you must remember: they can't take away your basic right to free speech. At least, not yet. And so with that, I will be expressing my right to free speech here on Ao3. :) I do not care at all about the wounded egos and bullshit feelings of these “people”, angry-crying about how disrespectful the maligned and marginalized subjects of their nasty propaganda and dangerous hate speech have been in the face of that disgusting excuse for a man’s death. Many of them are guilty of the same vile shit, and others simply run cover for their buddies in order to keep collecting those fat, fat billionaire checks like the shameless little piggies that they are. Choke on your crocodile tears, you lying scumbags.
