I'm glad I played it for a few hours, I'm glad I got to experience Granny Cream's Hot Butter Ice Cream in its original forme, but beyond that I don't really feel compelled to finish it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Eri...

Beyond that, there's not much more to it, as far as I can tell. Some of the reportable violations are really esoteric - e.g. you might need to report a button, but not accidentally click the label text *on* the button, or the description next to the button. I opened a walkthrough on the fourth job.

The not-so-good: the gameplay loop is a bit shallow. You get an assignment to report and flag some instances of disallowed content, you browse and hunt for violations and report them. You can hunt on listed pages via links and keyword searches, and find secret "unlisted" pages too.

The good: the writing is excellent and the game does an incredible job of capturing what it was like to be online in 1999. The vibe is perfect. Most websites have weird little custom songs that auto-play when the pages load. Viruses abound, many of them annoying but harmless.

The concept: it is 1999 and you are a volunteer moderator for an alternate reality version of AOL that you can only access while asleep. Find and report rules violations.

It’s a fun idea and it’s fun for a few cases, but 5 cases in I don’t really feel engaged enough to play it to the end.
