My wonderful husband walked into the living room and announced with confidence and pride, "I just remembered my dream last night: I had procured a fistful of single-origin Slim Jims."

In the middle of a conversation about where to go after we see a musical a couple weeks from now, my husband blurts out, "You know, I just thought of a great name for a grocery store. Broceries: Food for Dudes."

It is vital that we give big ai trillions of dollars and let them burn through billions of cubic feet of natural gas per day so that students are able to get a passing grade without having to learn anything

The "do audiobooks count as reading?" debate is weirdly persistent and also pointless because no one ever argues that the audiobooks aren't literature.

Also, reading doesn't "count" anymore--I haven't been able to use it as currency for pizza in over two decades.

and I wasn’t going to speak up, but I read a description of Gaiman survivors as “rabid fans,” as if that makes them more vulnerable or culpable. I wasn’t a fan; I was there with my boyfriend who liked comics. Nothing makes us more vulnerable than being young, not being a man, and not having power.

Speaking as a middle child in particular, inviting your parents to see King Lear feels passive-aggressive.

What kind of frozen pizza are we getting while we pick up the antibiotics for my sinus infection?

So anyway 12 years ago today someone shot 6 teachers and 20 kindergartners in their classroom and America deemed them as acceptable sacrifices to its misinterpretation of some sketchy sentence fragments and I’ll never forgive it for that

My husband wants me to watch "A Christmas Story," which he swears is amazing, but it just seems so tedious and I don't want to watch it.

When you "share" a streaming service with your brother, you make your profile picture Will Smith and his Carlton.

My perspective on my romantic partnership is mostly just a loving and deeply appreciative application of the Muppet Theory, and this gives me the great confidence only possessed by a cheerful chaos muppet.

people say “you need to start living in the real world” but they forget that the real world includes lupines and lightning bugs and ginger beer and starlight and sea coasts and Renoir paintings and Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos and fog banks and foxes playing in snow.

My favorite city in the entire world. To see the crowds against the night lights all the way to the hills gives me hope for its freedom. The people of Georgia are amazing.
Look at the density in the depth of this photo! And this is before the Public Broadcaster protesters joined the main crowd as well. Day 4!

One of my students doodled on their test a fairly non-specific animal wearing clothes and holding a cup of coffee and wrote next to it that it was "extremely Mrs. [Noren] Core."

Honestly, this is very fair

As someone with diagnoses of complex grief and PTSD, I was not anticipating the profundity (nor being racked with emotional sobs of acceptance as the credits rolled) that is the film "My Old Ass."

It seemed so pedestrian a premise, but it was beautiful.

Our HOA board just made a joke about how they're maybe retired, and one says, "I'm not retired, I'm [the r-word]."

Whelp, maybe please retire.

Somehow I am an adult who owns a condo and as part of that victory, I get to sit through this HOA meeting while trying not to fidget like a hyperactive woman at the end of a workday.

Dr. Tony Ogburn created an ob-gyn clinic in the Rio Grande Valley to provide maternal care to an underserved community. After S.B. 8 passed, Ogburn told his colleagues, “The standard of care can now be construed as a felony.”
The Texas Ob-Gyn Exodus
Amid increasingly stringent abortion laws, doctors who provide maternal care have been fleeing the state.

Him: Hey, thanks, before you left this morning, you remembered to do that thing you said you forgot last night.

Me: I did?! Wow.

Him: Do you not remember remembering? Unless maybe you forgot that you actually remembered to do it last night?

Me: Uhhhh... I do not remember.
