D&D tells its player, its GM: "wait". Wait til level 15 to run a lich. Wait to scout the dungeon before entering. Wait til session 50 to wrap up the campaign. Its engrained into the play culture. But theres a lot of merit - especially in systems with less extreme power growth - to not waiting (1/2)
