"Next Gen"
"Interoperability" 💀

Also would like to nominate "Integrated Fires" as an addition to your Fires entry.

And similar to the C2/3/4/5 conundrum...
Missile Defense?
Air & Missile Defense?
Integrated Air & Missile Defense?
ENHANCED Integrated Air & Missile Defense!?!

The thing that makes me itchy is that we've already been seeing the writing on the wall for MI shifting toward 12333 violations based on the rhetoric/domestic deployments. Solidifying the order of these priorities in the NSS makes that even more likely...

I keep using DoD until forced to stop, which hasn't happened yet. Half the government websites still say DoD. Even the ones that have changed to DoW are inconsistent. And it's not like the fourth estate orgs are changing their names which makes this whole thing even more dumb.

As it so often does, really comes down to the "definition of 'done'"... or lack thereof 🙃

Beyond the obviously terrible not-getting-paid part. Functionally things are going to start getting a lot worse. Contractors have largely been keeping the wheels turning as best they can without the decision makers and now we will start seeing more significant reductions of that workforce as well.

You know, Strategy Cheese been real fuckin quiet lately. Isn't he supposed to masterfully prioritizing GPC and countering PRC hegemony or some such?

Same! Been feeling this increasingly as of late and this one was the glass shattering moment for me. So disappointing, too, as I have held them in such high regard.

There he is. I hadn't seen the Main Character of Milsky in my feed in a bit and feared he had run out of idiotic, reprehensible things to say.

See, all these people use the internet at home. Daily. Without even thinking about risk. They unknowingly expose themselves to risk every day.

They do not conduct air strikes from their couch so everything they know about it is properly trained and the risk awareness is baked in.

Soldiers (and commanders) understand where the risk lies in kinetic action and maneuvering in the physical domain. They generally DO NOT in the cyber domain.

While I agree with some of the sentiments in this article, I feel it fundamentally misunderstands the operational environment it is advocating for and the baseline cyber awareness (lol) of the typical servicemember.
