Seems that @cloudflare.social 's 1.1.1.1 resolver is having issues. It also seems to have affected 2Degrees DNS for my broadband, but I'm not sure how. I would think that 2Degrees would run their own DNS infra?

all US trains that allowed anyone to control the brakes?

Cool cool cool.
Security vulnerability on U.S. trains that let anyone activate the brakes on the rear car was known for 13 years — operators refused to fix the issue until now

Samsung NZ messing up sending out emails. Inserted what looks to be a password hash instead of first name in the email subject. I guess the positive is that they're hashing passwords and not storing as plain text!

@marcdaalder.bsky.social hey Marc, I'm trying to put together some data around bills/acts that NZ govts have passed and came across: newsroom.co.nz/2025/05/29/g.... It doesn't look like the govt mentions a bill/bill stage is under urgency. Did you have to dig through transcripts to get this data?

Hey all -- this is not happening -- Slack will be comped for CNCF communities in perpetuity.
Heads up: on 20 June, Salesforce will no longer be supporting the Kubernetes project with a free enterprise license. We will lose access to channel history older than 90 days, and will likely be forced to migrate to a new platform sometime later this year.

Shout out to the Auckland Council for bringing back the chemical free weed control. There was talks of scrapping this as it costs more than using glyphosate. I just had some folks with the steam truck treating the weeds in our street. Not sure if this was you @richardhills.bsky.social, but thanks!

Oh man, this brings back memories. I had a bunch of these on my geocities pages. Thought I was so cool, even though I’m sure only 5 people ever visited them
The Internet Archive has rolled out an extremely effective new tool for searching for old Geocities GIFs.

I'd apologize for what I'm about to do to this website as a result, but that would be a lie, because I won't feel sorry at all

Starting to take a look at owasp.org/www-project-.... Looks like an interesting way to record threat models in a standardised format that can be used by tools/AI. There also seems to be some talk about this being a part of CycloneDX in some way, but not sure how that's going to work.
