Love a good brew. Hate rudeness/hypocrisy, love animals, art, books, gardening/nature, science, genealogy, crafting, kindness, hugs, history, learning stuff. Funny & quirky make life more interesting. Slave to 5 cats. Don't get me started about dried fruit
Yup, it sure is Christmas! The cats have had mega-zoomies (fuelled by treats), and one of them (Eliza) has been sick.

Me? Woke up feeling tired & snotty & with a sore throat. Quelle surprise!

Hope you all have the best possible day. Be kind to each other x

It's Christmas once more – does that fill you with dread?
The work that is needed, the folks to be fed?
Are you wanting to party or hide in the shed?
Will you visit the in-laws or wish them all dead?
Whatever you’re feeling, be your mood dark or light
I hope & I pray that it’s not total shite

It is lashing down outside. I have 5 bored cats having the zoomies indoors as a result. Furniture has all been shoved precariously to the other end of the room to make space for the new delivery today. I am tired and stressed, they are excited by their new play set-up. What could possibly go wrong?

I can't knit - I just can't. Never have, never will. Crochet: that's different. My mum taught me how to do granny squares, & I can almost do them in my sleep. 😊 Now trying Tunisian crochet, a kind of crochet/knitting mash-up, with long hooks like knitting needles. I think I like it!

In the run-up to Christmas Day, the supermarket delivery slot is booked, & I have a back-up plan for when they fail to bring something vital. I'm compiling The List of Yumminess for what the cats & I want. I have books & DVDs to last until Spring. When did I get so flippin' organised? WHO AM I?

Sad face time. That moment when the item you've been waiting for finally arrives - you open the box, & after a nanosecond of joy cos it's just what you wanted...

you realise that it's broken 😞

One of my cats (Esme) growls loudly whenever a Sainsbury's or Amazon delivery driver approaches the house. Evri & Royal Mail are acceptable, it seems, as are guests & other callers. I wish she could explain her reasoning to me...

Why do I get the feeling that there is still so much more to emerge regarding Andrew?

🎶Tulane Uni had a monkey shop
Under the counter was the cream of the crop
Everything was clickin', yeah those monkeys were sick
Business was good, but the driver's a dick...🎶

Sorry, Chuck & Steve...

Friends, it's time to confess: I am bishedual, but it's not enough. Yeah, I've got a shed to store the lawn mower etc, another for the horticultural/potting stuff. And a greenhouse. But I want more. Heed my words: whatever size shed/greenhouse you want, go bigger. Much bigger. You know you want to..

When windy place your best ear to the bark of an oak tree, and with a hand stop all noise entering the other ear

When you get used to the embarrassment from the looks of passers by, you can concentrate on listening THROUGH the tree to the trunk & branches working with the wind

AI is like that time I woke up and found a U2 album I didn't ask for on my iPod.

I don't want it. I didn't ask for it. Leave me alone.

I've got COVID. It's bleddy miserable. No wonder I'm feeling so crap, & sleeping 20 hours a day... :(

I could have be heading out for a fab meal with lovely people (in part to honour my recent birthday). The reality is that I feel rubbish - hot then cold, aches, sore throat etc. I feel crappy, I'm tired & bored, & the gastronomic highlight of the day has been toast, followed by a yogurt. Wah!

An overwhelming need for tea has forced me to rise from my pit. At times like this, I wish I had a chaise longue and a butler 😞

Beware going to a 6 year-old's birthday party! I had a great time (see earlier post), but am now paying the price. I have the lurgy big time, & feel absolutely pants. I was supposed to be having a long-arranged dinner tonight with 2 friends, but not now... I am retiring again to my pit instead 😞

The world's descent into madness is complete. We have come full circle. Kim Kardashian is selling merkins*, & there's a WAITING LIST? I weep for gullible humanity, & am off to build a nuclear fallout bunker under my shed...

Heading out to party hearty (well, there IS cake involved, so what choice do I have?)...

Happy birthday to S, who is 6 today! 🎈

Wish me luck, please - I am having to transition from ESA to Universal Credit or lose my benefit, and just the thought is making me ill. They have all of my medical notes, MRIs etc, they know I won't miraculously heal, so why make me apply yet again?

Disabled people are demonised in this country.

A friend is buying me a birthday lunch (yay!), so I've been checking out local menus. One place offers "ruffled garlic & herb roast potatoes" as a side - WTF? I like food (no secret), but not arty-farty menus - is the garlic ruffled or the spuds? How do you ruffle them in the 1st place? Jesus...

So...no fat generals allowed in the US armed forces, huh?

Isn't Trump their Commander in Chief? Who's going to tell him?
