SUPPORT CANADIAN ARTISTS. Buy (not stream) their music. Attend local shows. See Canadian independent films. Canada has produced some of the best artists who have ever lived. Do the work. There's never been a better excuse to do it.

Well worth watching @MarkJCarney explain to a US audience his view of the clear differences between Canada & US - and his critical point that if the US has changed its priorities with respect to Canada, Canadians are resolved to going forward on our own.

If you have not read the LOTR series, I highly recommend it. Read it together with the family! There is much more to the story than in the movies. It is an excellent parable for how much can be done to stem the tide of evil when good, kind regular folk work together.

If you think about it logically, DEI is fundamentally about stats. If group Y represents X% of the population, logically, they should have X% of the opportunity. If they don't, why? How you approach that question is the real issue.

A neurodivergent music take: I don't listen to The Beatles a lot, but I occasionally go down a rabbit hole. My ADHD brain craves novelty, and 60 years later, their approach to composition is still unique and fresh.

Reading and writing policy all day, I read fantasy to switch off. Just finished re-reading LOTR & the Fall of Gondolin. Any good High Fantasy suggestions?

I'm curious to hear critiques of a thought I had about housing solutions (Canada). Sell housing bonds. Government uses the revenue to buy x% of housing starts, sells at cost, guarantees low-interest mortgages for low-income 1st time buyers.

Ridiculous. Cellphones aren't niche tech anymore. If the Feds want a secure network they should legislate secure universal interoperability standards and a 5-year minimum on security updates for all devices.

I work in circular economy. Last night we got takeout from a local major grocer. This morning, I couldn't figure out what to do with the containers. The website says PE lined. Despite advertising, I doubt it's recyclable or compostable. I emailed the supplier; I'll let you know how it goes!

They're calling for 7°C tomorrow! As a #disabled person, I'm pretty happy about how easy this winter has been. As a #climatechange worker, I'm pretty worried about the likely knock-on effects.

Hey... Two questions for my first post. 1) What's a better definition of Sustainable Development than Bruntland?
2) Where are all the Canadian climate / social equity folks at!?
