The second to the left on the bottom is Dryodora glandiformis, but otherwise bang-on!

I have seen Haeckelia rubra once though
Very transparent ctenophore with four orange spots. It has super long baby ctenes

Happy Docktober! Have one of my favorite nudibranch dock finds. Doto sp (potentially Doto amyra)
Two teeny tiny nudibranchs snuggled up on some algae. They have simple rhinophores with a single rod coming out of a wider cylinder. Their backs are covered in cream colored cerata that have a very fluffy looking internal texture and lots of white polka dots.

Wanted to see if I could get an image I have of Haeckelia rubra to look like it was on a black background but didn't totally figure it out but am interested in dropping the attempt somewhere so here it is side by side with the original.

Some shrimps from playing around with my AstrHori Probe Lens at night 🦑🐙
A shrimp swims by upside down and down to the right. It's eye is in focus along with a few little tufts of hard structure on its body. It has so many appendages and patterns. A shrimp swims by right side up but down to the left. It's legs are striped in alternating black and orange, its body spotted in white and black and some stripes arise below its orby eyes.

‼️ Mystery Jelly Incoming ‼️

This itty bitty jelly (~2mm) showed up at my nightlight in the Salish Sea last night and it doesn’t match anything in my local reference book or iNat occurrences for this area.

Tiny jelly with bright orange radial canal and manubrium Same jelly under the microscope. It has maybe 12 or 16 tentacles. It’s bell is a little elongated but round so a sort of ovaloid sphere. Big beautiful lions mane jelly. It is a deep orange red with 8 petal like scallops to its edge and just a peekabo on one side of its velvet and dastardly tentacles

Had to go say goodbye to the dino exhibit at the PacSci. Recreated one of my childhood photos in the Duckbill footprint. The original image may be lost to time but I remember it.

If you’ll be in Seattle, go say goodbye before the dinos leave forever at end of day September 1st.

On the way over to Friday Harbor last night a Tsunami Warning was issued and we were worried we might not be able to get out to nightlight. Grateful that the potential waves were late enough and low impact enough we could still sneak in some time and be safely home before they’d land.
A gossamer worm darts across the frame, it’s transparent body a long form low amplitude wave like the one we needed to be gone before. Its glowing orange-yellow tail drags behind.
