Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

I’m not sure any of the Matrix sequels are exactly “necessary” narratively but man those special effects really rule after 25-ish years. Something about early aughts VFX makes them far superior to most of what’s being done now. The swarm of the sentinel bots in the third one is incredible.

The opening scene with the Harkonnens flying up toward the top of the rock pillar is beautiful. It supports your observation about his use of scale, and the scene gives me a feeling of anxiety cause I know despite the quiet the soldiers are going to meet a harsh end. Just awesome across the board
The easy answer is the Harkonnen gladiator fight, but Paul catching the sandworm is a masterclass.

And I’d say he’s an auteur when it comes to scale; so many of his movies celebrate enormity, structures and geography that dwarf humans. He has more of a signature flourish than, say, James Mangold
Cheers if you like his films, but you got any good-directing scenes in mind? I just don’t know what we’re doing with this category. I can tell you why Kurosawa is awesome and Whedon is incompetent, but directors who make conventionally great films without a signature narrative voice, what is that?
