I'm Noah. I am not a good poster. I've got a wife and two kids and a house in the suburbs. I like #metal & #pop & the #bengals.

I build:
* Splint (github.com/noahtheduke/...), a #clojure linter focused on style and code shape.
* Lazytest (github.com/noahtheduke/...), a Clojure #bdd test framework.

it is so unbelievably successful in fact that modern civil society simply refuses to violate terms of service at cops and billionaires. while this is “suboptimal” it is also a symptom of catastrophic levels of success and achievement which are objectively good. merely incomplete

everyone you love will die before you or be left behind by you. this is an inalienable fact, a very large one, and one you kind of have to fit it in your head if you're gonna have any chance of living well, even though it tries its best not to fit. this is being human. you should not run from it

another L for universal grammar
In 2023, Chomsky told WSJ about his relationship with Epstein: “First response is that it is none of your business. Or anyone’s. Second is that I knew him and we met occasionally.”

Epstein: you are of course welcome to use apt in new york with your new leisure time, or visit new Mexico again

hey @gameinformer.com, most of #372 is great, but writing single sentence reviews for a bunch of games is really cheap. especially when you're giving them 9.25s. y'all wrote more about marvel snap in this issue than you did about And Roger or Drag x Drive.

as someone with my name in the credits of the first release, it's hard to overstate my love and appreciation for apocalypse world. @lumpley.bsky.social and @megueyb.bsky.social have proven their prowess time and time again.

i am so excited to read and play this

my favorite part of my job: post in our team channel that i need help with something. someone says "let's hop on a call to fix it" an hour later. we hop on the call, walk through it. after the call, i send them a private message asking a clarifying question, and they don't respond for hours.

pre internet Fanny Farmer cookbook is the GOAT. my 5y/o asked for french toast, so i opened it up to page 545, added a little vanilla extract to the batter, and made french toast. incredible

i remember a blogpost from like 10-15 years ago about how the author views github PRs as the "unit of change", not git commits. the example they gave was commits that had a single emoji as the message. i thought it was by @steveklabnik.com but i looked over his blogs and didn't see it. anyone know?

it's poignant to think vanessa carlton will never release another album. maybe she will, maybe she won't, but we're rounding the corner on 6 years and there's no indication.

6 albums, each nearly perfect, is a pretty good run. but it would be nice to hear her again.

Then we abolish daylights saving time because losing an hour in the Spring sucks.

As we practice our craft to produce our art, we draw on all that background, the food & music & mythology & material culture that is the soil we were born into. Creating something new to share with others is us just adding to the interconnected web for the next generation to discover & draw from.

progress update: i have a working interpreter with multiple exas and file manipulation. i also have a rudimentary string reader so i can convert a string of instructions into actual instructions.

i need to figure out movement between hosts (rooms) and a textual representation of rooms and links.
1/ okay plt folks, i'm mulling over an interesting problem and i'm going to rubber duck y'all.

i've started following the Bytecode Virtual Machine portion of Crafting Interpreters, but the VM i want to build is significantly weirder than the one Bob is leading me to build.
